Product description

GENKRAFT single-phase diesel generator, 5-28 kW, 50 Hz

Do you have a 230 V load and no need for three-phase power? A GENKRAFT single-phase diesel generator is the solution for single-phase supply from 5 to 28 kW, either as backup or as the main source where the grid is unavailable or unreliable.

It is one product configurable across the entire range: choose the power, configuration and options. A single-phase diesel generator delivers stable 230 V, 50 Hz single-phase power, with electric starting and optional automatic start on mains failure, ready to connect to your installation.

Advantages of a GENKRAFT single-phase generator

  • Configurable 5-28 kW range: choose the power that matches your loads without paying for unused capacity.
  • Prime and standby ratings are specified according to ISO 8528, so you know exactly what the single-phase diesel generator delivers in each operating mode.
  • Stable 230 V, 50 Hz supply, matching the Romanian grid standard and suitable for your loads.
  • Automatic start on mains failure with an optional ATS panel, so the single-phase diesel generator takes over the loads without human intervention.
  • Two configurations: open for installation in a technical room and soundproof enclosed for low-noise outdoor installation.
  • Liquid-cooled diesel engine selected for low consumption and reliable operation, more economical than a petrol generator.
  • CE marking and conformity documentation, making the single-phase diesel generator eligible for projects financed with European funds.
  • Direct-supplier pricing without the markup of an expensive brand: you pay for the technology and components, not the name on the enclosure.

Technical specifications for the single-phase diesel generator

The single-phase diesel generator belongs to a unified range: the power rating changes while the platform remains the same. The values below are actual prime and standby ratings. Exact dimensions and weight are confirmed in the technical datasheet for each power step.

How to choose the right power

Sizing starts with the loads the generator must support: lighting, pumps, refrigerators, tools and single-phase equipment. Add their power requirements, then include a reserve for motor starting, which briefly demands several times the nominal current.

Do not oversize excessively: a generator operated for long periods at too little load does not work at its optimum point. Send us your load list and we will size the correct rating from the 5-28 kW range and tell you whether a single-phase diesel generator at that rating covers the requirement or whether the adjacent rating is more suitable.

Operating mode and autonomy

ISO 8528 defines prime power (PRP), available for an unlimited number of hours per year, and emergency standby power (ESP), available for a limited number of hours without overload. This range is rated for both, so it can operate as either the main source or backup.

Autonomy depends on tank capacity and load. The integrated tank covers typical operation, while extended use can be supported by a larger tank. Diesel consumption at 75% and 100% load is stated in the datasheet for each rating.

Why diesel

For a load that operates frequently or for long periods, diesel clearly outperforms petrol: lower fuel consumption at the same power, greater autonomy and a much longer service life under intensive use. The operating cost per hour is significantly lower.

Unlike a UPS, which covers only a few minutes, a diesel generator can support the load for hours or days as long as fuel is available. That makes it the right backup choice for an office, farm or workshop.

Components and construction

The technical platform is common across the range: liquid-cooled diesel engine, brushless alternator with 100% copper windings and automatic voltage regulator, controller with protections, and a frame with anti-vibration mounts for stable installation.

Components are selected for dependable starting and easy spare-parts support. A generator built on a unified platform is easier to maintain and troubleshoot, regardless of the selected power rating.

Configurations and options

Each single-phase diesel generator is supplied open for a technical room or in a soundproof enclosure for low-noise outdoor installation. The canopy protects the equipment from the weather and makes it suitable for placement near a building.

Options include an ATS automation panel for automatic mains-generator transfer, an extended tank for greater autonomy, an industrial socket and a monitoring system. The exact configuration is determined by your loads and installation site.

Applications and industries for the single-phase diesel generator

A single-phase diesel generator is used on farms, in workshops, shops, guesthouses and remote work sites where the loads are single-phase. It powers lighting, refrigerators, pumps and electric tools as the main source where a three-phase connection is unavailable.

As a backup source, a single-phase generator automatically takes over essential loads during an outage: lighting, water pumps and refrigeration equipment. The soundproof enclosed version allows low-noise outdoor operation near the building.

For telecom, irrigation and remote commercial cabins, a single-phase diesel generator provides continuous power. See the full GENKRAFT diesel generator range for three-phase versions and higher power ratings, or request sizing from the GENKRAFT technical team. The equipment carries CE marking in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Whatever the application, a single-phase diesel generator delivers the same stable supply, with optional automatic starting and a configuration selected for the installation site. A common technical platform across the 5-28 kW range means shared parts and predictable service.

Installation, delivery and documentation

As a reseller, we prepare every order to the selected configuration: power, enclosure and options. Delivery time therefore depends on the configuration and is confirmed in the quotation together with the final price.

At delivery, the equipment comes with CE marking and conformity documentation. On request, we provide the technical datasheet and certifications needed for a financing file. Electrical connection and commissioning are carried out by an authorised electrician according to the site design.

How it works

A single-phase diesel generator follows a simple sequence from mains failure to restoration:

  1. The mains sensor detects loss of supply or a voltage deviation in the public grid.
  2. The ATS automation panel commands the diesel engine to start and disconnects the mains.
  3. The generator reaches rated speed and the alternator delivers stable voltage.
  4. Within a few seconds of the outage, the ATS transfers the load to the generator without human intervention.
  5. When mains power returns, the system transfers the loads back and stops the engine after the cool-down period.
  6. The controller monitors operating parameters and shuts the set down on protection events, signalling alarms.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose a single-phase diesel generator instead of a three-phase one?

Choose the single-phase version when all your loads operate at 230 V and there are no three-phase motors. It is the solution for small offices, farms and workshops without a 400 V connection. If you also have three-phase loads, you need a three-phase model.

How much power do I need from a single-phase diesel generator?

Add up the power of the single-phase loads and include a reserve for motor starting, which requires a current peak. Send us your load list and we will recommend the correct rating from the range.

Can it start automatically when the mains power fails?

Yes. With an ATS automation panel suitable for single-phase operation, the generator starts automatically when mains power disappears and stops when it returns. The ATS is optional and specified in the quotation.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Yes, in the soundproof enclosed version. The canopy protects against weather and reduces noise, allowing the single-phase diesel generator to operate near a building without causing disturbance.

What maintenance does it require?

Basic maintenance means checking the oil, filters, coolant and battery at the intervals specified in the manual. The digital controller provides early alarm indications, and regular maintenance ensures a long service life.

Can it be monitored remotely?

Yes, optionally. With the monitoring module, generator status, fuel level and alarms can be viewed remotely over the network, which is useful for unattended sites.

How do I order and receive a quote?

Choose the power rating and configuration, then request a quote. We confirm the configuration, price and delivery time. Because each unit is prepared to order, you receive exactly the version suited to your project.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, we deliver throughout Romania. Electrical connection and commissioning are performed by an authorised electrician in accordance with the site's electrical design, and we provide the required technical documentation.

Is it eligible for projects funded by European funds?

Yes. The equipment comes with CE marking and conformity documentation, so it can be included in co-financed investment projects. On request, we provide the technical datasheet and certifications for the financing file.
